FLASHBACK: CHAMPIONSHIP 1982

09.10.2022

Today we recall two autumn home matches of our team in 1982 - against Metalist Kharkiv and Dnepr Dnepropetrovsk.

The first took place on October 2. In previous match Dinamo lost to Metalist 1:2.

This time Dinamo played with the following line-up: Viarhgeenka, Barouski, Kurnenin, Yanusheuvski (Zyhgmantovich, 69), Trukhan, Rumbutsis, Hotsmanau, Pudyshau, Melnikau (Bialou, 64), Kandratsieu, Vasileuski. In the match with "Metalist" we played without the leader of the attacks Hurynovich, who received the second yellow card in the previous match. Prakapenka also missed the match.

In the first minute, the hosts carried out a swift counterattack, which could have ended in a goal. Vasileuski kicked the ball back to Rumbutis with his heel, and he shot it into the near corner, which was securely covered by the guests' goalkeeper. In general, from the very beginning of the match, Dinamo looked more confident. And naturally, in the 22nd minute, they succeeded - a targeted pass into the center of penalty area from the right flank. The multi-way combination with Vasileuski, Hotsmanau, Kurnenin, Melnikau was completed by Vasileuski from thirteen meters. The ball touched one of the defenders and changed direction exactly into the goal. At the end of the first half, Rumbutsis almost reached the ball at the very goal of the opponent, then Vasileuski hit the post from the goalkeeper's line. In the first half Dinamo served eight corner free-kicks, but none of them was successful.

After the break, the Kharkiv team rebuilt the game, began to attack more often and created several real threats at the goals of Viarheenka. For example, in the 59th minute, our goalkeeper only managed to hit the ball in a fall with his feet. In general, in the second half, Viarheenka rescued the team three times in a row in difficult situations. And ten minutes before the final whistle, the Kharkiv team, eliminating the danger, sent the ball right to Kurnenin who kicked the ball from thirty meters under the crossbar. The result of the match - 2:0.

The next home match of Dinamo took place on October 6. In the previous match Minsk beat Dnepr with a score of 3:1.

On October 6 Dinamo played with the following line-up: Viarheenka, Barouski, Kurnenin, Yanusheuski, Trukhan, Prakapenka, Hotsmanau (Bialou, 83), Pudyshau, Rumbutsis, Kandratsieu (Zyhmantovich, 65), Vasileuski.

The guests by this moment of the championship had exhausted the limit of draws and preferred actions from defense. They kept at least seven players in defense throughout the match, counterattacking with small forces. Therefore, it is not surprising the advantage of Dinamo from the first minutes was noticeable. In the 6th minute, only the goalkeeper's lightning-fast reaction saved Dnepr. Kandratsieu struck his head from the penalty area. Then the sharp moments at the goals of Dnepr arose one by one. But the ball never found its way into the goal, which, again, was the great merit of the Dnepr's goalkeeper Kansevich. And the guests for the entire first half, excluding one shot from long distance, had no attempts at the Dinamo's goals.

After the break, the game escalated. Dnepr created two dangerous moments. In the first case, Viarheenka managed to send the ball to corner, and in the second case, the defenders knock him out of the goalkeeper's line. Immediately, Dinamo carried out a replacement. Instead of Kandratsieu, midfielder Zyhmantovich entered the field. Having rebuilt the game, Minsk put forward the active Hotsmanau at the forefront together with Prakapenka.

The fate of the match was decided within two minutes. First, Prakapenka and Zyhmantovich exemplarily played a “wall”, and Proakapenka easily rolled the ball into the low corner of the Dnepr goal. Two minutes later, Hotsmanau succeeded in high-speed dribbling, which he completed with a strong and accurate shot. In the remaining 18 minutes Dinamo hold the ball. The outcome of the match - 2:0.

Then there was a short break in the USSR championship. The team competed at the European Championship. The next match took place on October 17. Dinamo-Minsk had seven more matches to play.
