FLASHBACK: CHAMPIONSHIP 1982

On October 23, 1982, a match between Dinamo-Minsk and Neftchi Baku took place in the capital of Azerbaijan. In the first match Dinamo won with a score of 3:1.

This time Dinamo played with the following squad: Viarheenka, Barouski, Kurnenin, Yanusheuski, Trukhan (Kandratsieu, 59), Prakapenka, Hotsmanau, Pudyshau, Zyhmantovich, Hurynovich (Melnikau, 66), Vasileuski.

Dinamo started the match confidently. However, on the 14th minute, the Baku team opened the score. The ball seemed to leave the field and our defenders stopped the fight. But the attacker of the opposing team caught up with the ball and quickly redirected it to Kurbanau, who was accurate in his finishing blow. Then, in the 31st minute, Yanushevski played carelessly, hitting the ball right on Akhmerau. Viarheenka, as in the first case, could not save the situation. Moreover, another goal was nearly scored to Dinamo's net. Barouski cut the ball in to his own goal but it hit the crossbar.

In the second half, the Dynamo team found their game, they acted widely, used combinations. Kurnenin went perfectly through the center, beat the defender and delivered an accurate shot - 1:2. This moment could become a turning point in the game, Dinamo had to score one more goal, but this did not happen. On the contrary, in the 68th minute the defenders played inaccurately: Alieu, passing along the flank, struck a shot and after the ricochet the ball flew into Viarheenka's goal. In the 77th minute, Zyhmantovich reduced the gap in the score, but Dinamo did not manage to turn the game in their favor for the remaining time.

Although Dinamo lost the first line in the table remained with them. And on October 27, our team was waiting for a missed match with Kyiv Dynamo.
