FLASHBACK: CHAMPIONSHIP 1982

19.11.2022

On November 19, 1982, the main intrigue of the season of the USSR Football Championship had to be decided - who will become the champion? On such a significant day for our team in the final match of the season, Dinamo played against Spartak in Moscow. The previous match between the opponents ended in favor of Dinamo-Minsk with a score of 1:0. Before this round, there were two contenders for the championship title - Dinamo-Minsk and Dynamo Kyiv.

Eduard Malafeeu has chosen the following starting line-up: Viarheenka, Barouski, Kurnenin, Yanusheuski, Zyhmantovich (Shyshkin, 21), Prakapenka, Hotsmanau, Pudyshau, Aleinikau (Kandratsieu, 65), Hurynovich, Vasileuski.

Minsk immediately began persistent attacks on the goal of Spartak, and already in the second minute Hurynovich went one on one with the goalkeeper, but shot higher. Soon the captain of the team Pudyshau could score, but Moscow goalkeeper played perfectly. On the 13th and 15th minutes, the goalie also reflected the strongest blows from Hotsmanau and Aleinikau. But in the 17th minute, one of the rare counterattacks of Spartak ended with a goal to Dinamo's goal. Our defenders joined the attack, lost their positions on the left flank were Hess crossed the ball to the penalty area of Dinamo-Minsk where Kalashnikau was also left alone. He hit hard in the near top corner. 1:0. Dinamo immediately made a substitution - instead of Zyhmantovich Shishkin entered the field. He took the place of the right back, and Hotsmanau moved forward. The conceded goal did not bring confusion to the ranks of the Minsk team. Dinamo continued to attack. On the 28th minute, Prakapenka sent Hurynovich one on one with the Spartak goalkeeper with an excellent pass. Hurynovich this time does not miss his chance - 1:1.

Dinamo was not satisfied with a draw and continued to play elegant combinations all over the field. In the 34th minute, Pudyshau started one of them on the right flank, and Hurynovich completed it with an accurate header from the corner of the goalkeeper's area  - 2:1.

At the beginning of the second half - another beautiful combination of Dinamo-Minsk. Hotsmanau, breaking into the opponents' penalty area, making a hidden pass with a heel pass to the oncoming Vasileuski, who increased the score with a strong blow. And nine minutes later, the same Hotsmanau, successfully spinning the Spartak defenders on the right flank, gave an accurate pass to Aleinikau. He hit straight and strong. 4:1. Spartak soon proved that he was holding the match not for show. Two excellent combinations were beautifully completed by Shaulo. The score became 3:4, but Spartak was not allowed to score more.

The final whistle sounded and for the first time in the history of national football Dinamo-Minsk became champions. Kyiv Dynamo lost only one point to Minsk. Bronze medals went to Moscow Spartak.

We congratulate all the players and coaches of the golden squad on this memorable date, all the fans both those who followed the events of the championship season in 1982 and those who heard about them only from stories. This is our common wonderful history!
