FLASHBACK: CHAMPIONSHIP 1982

On October 30, 1982 our team played with "Kairat" from Almaty. The first match ended in a draw - 2:2. By the fall of 1982, the teams were at different poles of the standings, but this did not make the match any less spectacular.

This time, Dinamo played at its home arena with the following line-up: Viarheenka, Barouski, Kurnenin, Yanusheuski, Trukhan, Prakapenka, Melnikau (Hotsmanau, 57), Pudyshau, Aleinikau (Zyhmantovich, 75), Kandratsieu, Vasileuski.

Dinamo began the match actively, one attack replaced another, but there was still no goal. Expecting such a scenario, Kairat played with 5 defenders. They played very diligently, attentively and tenaciously. But still, in the 31st minute, the big advantage of the hosts turned into a goal. Aleinikau, entering the penalty area on the right, on a false swing left two defenders behind and gently crossed the ball to the opposite post. There, Kurnenin directed the ball into the near corner with the header. Five minutes before the break, almost in the only counterattack of the Almaty team, something unexpected happened. After a quick attack "Kairat" equalizes the score - 1:1. But the game did not end there. At the 43rd minute, again Kurnenin joins the attack from the left and strikes. The ball ricocheted into the net.

In the second half, the advantage of Dinamo preserved, but once again an unfortuned played against the blue-whites. Viarheenka unsuccessfully knocked the ball straight to the opponent. Barouski, who was standing nearby, was stunned and could only grab the opponent by the T-shirt. However, he escaped, took advantage of an unexpected gift and shot into an unprotected corner of the goal. 2:2. There were 18 minutes left before the final whistle. They passed in a continuous attacks of Dinamo. Pudyshau, Prakapenka, Hotsmanau and Zyhmantovich, Kurnenin could decide the fate of the match. But Dinamo either missed, or the goalkeeper of Almaty played flawlessly. And yet, a few seconds before the final whistle of the referee, Kurnenin again flashed his scoring instinct. He received the ball right in front of the guests' goal, approached a little and, past the goalkeeper who ran out to meet him, sent the ball down into the net. 3:2.

Thus, in this match, the defender scored a hat-trick - it is difficult to remember such a thing in the history of the championships - and Dinamo-Minsk retained its leading position. We had 4 more matches until the end of the championship.
