JUNE 22 - A SAD DATE IN BELARUSIAN HISTORY
Today Belarus marks a sad date. On June 22, 1941, the Great Patriotic War began. At 4 o'clock in the morning, Nazi Germany made a treacherous attack on the Soviet Union. The first to take the blow were the fighters of the Brest Fortress. Then the war passed through the entire territory of our country, killing millions of Belarusians, leaving hundreds of thousands of children orphans, destroying and plundering cities and villages. But, having shown will and courage, our people were able to stand and win.
Today, much attention is paid to the preservation of historical truth. Since 2022, the date of June 22 has received a new name - the Day of National Remembrance of the victims of the Great Patriotic War and the genocide of the Belarusian people.
On this day, commemorative events, historical reconstructions, a minute of silence are held throughout the country.
FC Dinamo-Minsk, a club that survived the Great Patriotic War, is especially tolerant about this period of our history and memory, honors traditions and never forgets the feat of the Belarusian people.
Dinamo remembers. Belarus remembers.
