FLASHBACK: CHAMPIONSHIP 1982

16.07.2022

On July 12, 1982, the pause caused by the participation of the USSR national team in the World Championship ended. Dinamo-Minsk was represented by Siarhei Barouski. On July 14, Dinamo hosted Torpedo from Kutaisi at home arena.

The following Dinamo players took part in the match: Viarheenka, Barouski, Kurnenin, Trukhan, Zyhmantovich, Prakapenka, Hotsmanau (Aleinikau, 76), Pudyshau, Melnikau, Kandratsieu, Vasileuski (Hurynovich, 35). This composition repeated the one that the team had at the very beginning of the championship, and led to victories over Dynamo Moscow and Spartak. However, the scheme has changed: instead of five defenders, this tem Dinamo played four: Hotsmanau, Kurnenin, Barouski, Trukhan. Pudyshau moved to the mid field.

The guests had only two opportunities to score and they took advantage of them. Dinamo had to catch up twice.

On the 8th minute, a Torpedo player short unexpectedly outside the penalty area after Dinamo lost the ball and scored. After 6 minutes, Prakapenka received the ball from Pudyshau in the penalty area and immediately hit the goal equalizing the score.

The pressure from Dinamo-Minsk was growing. By this time, Pudyshau, Prakapenka, Kandratsieu had missed real opportunities to score. Dinamo was in the attack all the time. And very often they were late returning back. And the guests were taking advantage of it. On the 28th minuute best scorer of the championship - Megreladze headed an awkward ball into Viarheenka's goal.

At the end of the first half, Vasilevski was replaced by Hurynovich. And right after the break, he proved that the replacement was correct and he could be at the right time in the right place. Reflecting another wave of attacks, the defender of the guests decided to hit the ball away from his goal. But he got right into Hurinovich who was just standing next to him. The ball ricocheted right into the goal.

It seemed that the match would end in a draw. Torpedo was trying to waste the time and the goalkeeper even received a warning for this. But Dinamo fought to the end. A few seconds before the final whistle, Kurnenin made an excellent cross into the penalty area, Kandratsieu jumped high and cut it, and then sent the ball into the "nine" with his head.

The result of the meeting is 3:2 and Dinamo-Minsk strengthens its position in the standings.

And already on July 17, Dinamo was preparing to host Neftchi from Baku. Kurnenin was missing this match because of the yellow cards.
